Job Posting: Downtown Forney Market Groundskeeper Assistant
The Forney Arts Council is now accepting applications for a Groundskeeper Assistant on Downtown Forney Market event days.
Groundskeeper Assistant duties for Downtown Forney Market on Event Day, as delegated by the Groundskeeper include:
Arrive approx. 8:30 a.m as vendors begin to set up.
Pull from market storage the signs, feather banners, and other materials promoting the market. Install the signs and banners throughout downtown Forney (see map of suggested locations).
Set out tables and chairs for the "food court" area of the market.
Set out trash cans with bags and clean and stock restrooms and hand washing station. Port-potty should be stocked when delivered; check with Site Manager for on-site restroom key if locked.
Assist with putting up FAC canopy and table as needed.
Assist vendors with unloading their cars and/or setting up canopies (as needed and if time permits). Do not stock their booths - this is to help get them unpacked quickly so they can move their cars to vendor parking.
Check trash cans and restrooms throughout the day to restock as needed.
At close of the event, bring back signs and feather banners and replace them in storage. Put tables and chairs from the "food court" back into storage, too.
Empty trash can and bathroom trash.
This is a contract position. The Market Coordinator oversees the Groundskeeper position, and the Groundskeeper oversees the Groundskeeper Assistant position. Other tasks might be delegated by either of them throughout the day as needed.
Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. and be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.
Groundskeeper Assistant does not necessarily need to stay for the duration of the event. Main duties include set up (approx. 8:30am-10:00am) and tear down (approx. 2:30pm-4:00pm).
Starting pay for this position is $50/per market date.
